How to obtain the IP address of TA Series (FXS/FXO)

The TA Series attempts to contact a DHCP server in your network to obtain valid network settings (e.g., the IP address, subnet mask, default gateway address and DNS address) by default.
Please enable DHCP Server in your network to obtain the TA Series IP address.

How to check TA Series FXS/FXO gateway’s IP address?

1. Download a DeviceFound tool from Yeastar website: FindTA.rar
2. Run the DeviceFound.exe software.
3. The detected TA Series Gateway devices in the local network will appear in the window.
4. Find the IP address of TA Series Gateway by the device’s MAC address or SN.

For TA Series FXS gateway, you can also use the analog phone which is connected toTA Series FXS port to check the IP address.
1. Pick up the analog phone, then access the voice menu prompt by dialing “***”.
2. Dial “1” to check the IP address.
3. Dial “2” for web access address.

What’s the default user name and password of TA Series?

User name: admin
Password: password

Does TA Series Gateway support the T.38 fax?

TA Series FXS gateway supports T.38 FAX .It allows fax transmission over IP network.
TA Series FXO gateway does not support T.38 FAX.

Does TA Series support message waiting indicator (MWI)?

TA Series Gateway supports sending FSK, Neon or polarity reversal signal to an analog phone to light up the MWI upon receiving a voicemail.

Can all the FXS ports on the gateway be registered to the same VoIP Server?

Yes, you can configure one VoIP Server template and apply it to all the FXS ports.

Does TA Series FXS Gateway support line reverse polarity?

Yes, you can enable polarity for the FXS port. A polarity signal is required on some systems for reverse polarity billing. Once receiving the signal, the system starts to bill.

Can I use the # key as send key on analog phone which is connected to FXS gateway?

Yes, you can enable or disable this feature on TA Series Web interface (Gateway->Gateway Settings-> General Preferences).

How to make internal calls between analog phones connected to the same TA Series FXS gateway?

Achieve it by simply pressing the “Internal Call Extra” feature code (default *99) + the FXS port number on the phone.
Note: you need to add digit 0 before the FXS port number if the port number is from 1 to 9.
For example, to make a call from the phone which is connected to TA Series FXS port 1 to another phone which is connected to FXS port2, you need to dial *9902 on the phone.
The user connected to port 16 can be reached by dialing *9916 on the phone.

Can I adjust the call volume?

Yes. You can adjust the call volume for the FXS/FXO port. Go to the FXS/FXO edit page and find the volume settings. The option
“RxGain” for receive volume, and “TxGain” for transmit volume. Increasing the RxGain value means that the internal party hears a bigger voice. Increasing the TxGain value means that the external party hears a bigger voice.

What to do if the Web Configuration Interface shows “undefined”?

Retry after refreshing the IE web page; if the problem has not been solved, please delete the cookie and cache of the browser.

Can I change the device’s IP address by an analog phone?

Yes, enter the voice menu and operate following by the prompt.
Enter Voice menu: press *** on the phone which is connected to TA Series.

Which type of VPN is supported on TA Series and how to configure it?

What voice compression does TA Series support?

TA Series supports the following codecs: G711 (u-law, a-law), GSM, G722, G723, G726, G729A, ADPCM

What types of applications are VoIP gateways used for?

Dozens. The three most common applications include:
1) PSTN connectivity for your VoIP phone system
2) Connecting traditional telephones to your VoIP phone system
3) VoIP connectivity for your traditional PBX system

Does your gateway have any tool to debug?

Yes, our gateway has system logs and a packet tool on the Web to help you debug the gateway in real time.
Moreover, you can debug the device via SSH. You need to enable SSH on “Service” Page first.

Why there is no caller ID from the PSTN line?

This might result from:
1) The trunk doesn’t have caller ID service. In order to confirm it, please connect the CO line directly to the analog phone and call it via cell phone to check if there is caller ID on the phone. If there is no caller ID, please contact the service provider.
2) Wrong settings of “Caller ID Start” and “Caller ID Signaling”.
In this case, please change their settings. Go to the menu (PBXExtensions and TrunksTrunks), then select the right trunk and select the right type for “Call ID Start” and “Caller ID Signaling” in the edit page. As well as check the “Enable Caller ID Detection” with “YES”.
